Top Individual Performers (So Far) - Page 2 Empty question about calculation

Mon Feb 22, 2021 4:15 pm
How do you go about calculating the points for individual awards. Do you account for the difference in ranks? For example if two individuals at the same tournament get awards but one gets 18 ranks and the other gets 19 ranks, are you accounting for that in your calculation? Or is it a base score each individual receives for winning an award, with the only variation being the number of national teams in that tournament?

To answer bbsmooth15's question, I do account for difference in ranks which is then adjusted based on the strength of the tournament and the strength of the specific team's schedule.

Just curious but how far out from 50 is Kelsey McCafferty from Duquesne sitting? Had 4 awards on the year and one of only a dozen or so that got 28 ranks or more at ORCS, feel like she can't be that far off...

This list is so great -

I do think it would be interesting if you released more of it (I'm not sure how deep your rankings go) so students who were close could see just where you have them stacking up. Of course that may be more work, but still, it would be quite interesting to see.
