2019 Pre-Regionals Top Performers
Tue Nov 19, 2019 11:16 pm
As the fall invitational season wraps up, we have compiled a list of top performers from the fall. Just like last year, we are defining a top performer as someone who has taken at least two awards at top invites (ones where 25% or more of the field was made up of people from last year’s nationals). This means that the following invites qualify: Black Squirrel (Haverford), Carolina Classic (Elon), Classic City (Georgia), Cornshucker (Iowa), CUBAIT (Columbia), GAMTI (UVA), Grand Ole’ Tournament (Vanderbilt), Habeas Hippopotamus (GW), Mumbo Jumbo (Tufts), Peach Bowl (Emory), and Yale Invitational (Yale).
Clearly these are pretty clustered in the East Coast and Midwest since it’s easier to get a critical mass of top teams together in those areas without making people travel for hours. We are in no way claiming that these are the only top competitors out there. There are certainly many great competitors on teams not invited to these particular invitationals. But we do think that these competitors deserve a shout out for prevailing against such tough competition.
We will add addenda after any future top tournament tab summaries are released.
