From AMTA to Law School - advice for applications
Sat Aug 17, 2024 11:45 am
Every year, I talk to AMTA students and see that they aren't always getting good information or advice about applying to law school. There's especially a lack of info about how to talk about your AMTA achievements – on resumes, in personal statements, during interviews – in ways that admission committees will understand and appreciate.
So, this Fall, I'm doing a three-part Zoom series on information about law school. The third session is about my law school, but the first two are general sessions that should be useful no matter where you're looking to apply.
We will record the sessions on Zoom and post the recording on AMTA's YouTube channel and the UCLA Law Trial Team YouTube Channel. If you want to join for any of the three, sign up here.

See this flyer for details. Here's the synopsis:
* Session # 1 - Sept 11 @ 8:30 pm Eastern - "Applying to Law School" - An admission director and I will answer any questions you have, e.g., how to craft a strong application, mistakes to avoid, choosing which schools to apply to, personal statements, how to talk about mock trial in your application, and more.
* Session #2 - Oct 3 @ 8:30 pm Eastern - "Law School Mock Trial" - I will describe how law school mock trial works, how it differs from AMTA, career benefits, etc.
* Session #3 - Oct 21 @ 8:30 pm Eastern - "UCLA School of Law" - Advice for applying to UCLA, information about our trial advocacy classes and mock trial team, and what makes UCLA different.
