Personally, I’m surprised by the St. Paul regional, that three teams were able to go 8-0, especially with two of them being B teams.

I'm very surprised Arizona A did not make it out of Colorado Springs. And in Colorado Springs, a very strong showing from Colorado College. They strike me as a darkhorse NCT contender.

Week 4 Regional Results Empty Re: Week 4 Regional Results

St. Paul had six teams (Minnesota B, Northwestern B, Carleton A, Carleton B, Illinois A, North Central) at 4-0 all hitting each other in round 3. There were no splits or ties in those rounds, and the winning teams (Illinois, Northwestern B, Minnesota B) got the benefit of the power protect in round 4. Two of the three teams that lost also ended up with bids, the only one to miss out being North Central. It was a really strange tournament because there were no splits and one tie throughout all four rounds at the top of the bracket, which is extremely unusual.

I was not competing, but I did watch a lot of the top rounds and it was a really interesting tournament. I'm interested in what happened at Owings Mills - how did two teams manage to get bids with CS of 7.5? That's unusually low for a team with a bid, let alone two.
