Year of the B teams? Empty Year of the B teams?

Thu Apr 20, 2023 9:07 pm
Everyone has claimed that this year is "year of the B teams," but I want to see if that's true. I will be listing every time a B team (or C/D/E) outperformed the higher ranked team of a school at the same AMTA sanctioned tournament (besides different nationals divisions)! Have fun looking at all of the fun B/C/D members of strong programs. Schools with a B team outperforming the A team don't have bad A teams, they just have amazing programs all together.

2023:
1. Clark University (Chestnut Hill Regionals, B: 3-5 and A: 2-5-1)
2. New York University (Chestnut Hill Regionals, B: 7-1 and A: 5-3)
3. Georgia Tech (Columbia Regionals, B: 8-0 and A: 7-1)
4. University of Oregon (Seattle Regionals, C/D: 5-3 and B: 5-2-1)
